IB kicks off the new academic year

Just prior to the start of fall term, Integrative Biology department members gathered for a group photo in the Cordley Courtyard, followed by our annual welcome, recognition and achievements meeting.

Highlights of the past year included

Grad students received: 4 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships and 5 Honorable Mentions; 3 ARCS Foundation Fellowships; 2 Oregon Lottery Scholarships; 19 Zoology Research Fund (ZoRF) awards; 24 other scholarships, fellowships and grants

IB faculty received $2,142,000 in extramural funded grants and contracts

Biology degrees awarded: 110 BS and 19 HBS at Corvallis campus; 12 BS at Cascades campus

Zoology degrees awarded: 60 BS and 2 HBS; 11 PhD; 3 MS

Other graduate degrees with IB major profs: 1 PhD; 1 MS

18 undergrads earned the Research Fellow Notation on their transcript

Looking ahead to the 2016-17 academic year

15 new graduate students are joining IB, with one receiving an OSU Provost Fellowship
