Dr. Marshal is the Curator and Collections Manager for the Oregon State Arthropod Collection - housed in the Department of Integrative Biology.  The collection has been at OSU for over 140 years and continues to contribute to the department, college and university's research, teaching and outreach missions.  With approximately 3 million specimens, the collection represents the largest biodiversity archive for the insect fauna of the Pacific Northwest and a local resource for PNW scientists and the public to access specimens from elsewhere around the world. Dr. Marshall also conducts research on the systematics/taxonomy and biogeography of various insects, including bess beetles (Coleoptera: Passalidae), rain beetles (Coleoptera: Pleocomidae) and Grylloblatta (Grylloblattodea)
