Molly Burke Assistant Professor

I am an evolutionary biologist studying adaptation from a genomic perspective. How do adaptive genetic variants originate in populations? How predictable are the fates of these variants? Is adaptive evolution repeatable at the DNA level? My lab uses experimental evolution to test these types of questions about long-term evolutionary change in model systems including Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast) and Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies).
