Our transdisciplinary team investigates the basic processes of life from diverse perspectives. We value and examine different ways of knowing. The lab focuses scholarly work at the intersection of biological and Buddhist approaches to inquiry. The team investigates questions relating to biodiversity, evolution, symbiosis, and different perspectives on the nature of life. We currently study many life systems including nematodes, gastropods, trees, wasps, and fungi. We apply diverse molecular, genetic, microscopic, quantitative, and contemplative approaches to our inquiry. The lab is a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment that prioritizes life balance, well-being, and inspiration in its trainees.
