A key part of the Center is the CGRB Core Laboratories that provide services, technical expertise, collaborative functions and share-use equipment for molecular bioscience research at Oregon State University. The Core Labs are a fully staffed facility that serves as a focal point for acquisition and development of new instrumentation and technologies. A professional staff of six provides service in four areas: (1) Genomics - DNA Sequencing, High Throughput Sequencing (Illumina & 454), genotyping and fragment analysis; (2) Functional Genomics - NimbleGen and Affymetrix GeneChip® microarray services; (3) Biocomputing and Bioinformatics - Bioinformatics, biocomputing, and microarray analysis; (4) Imaging and Image Analysis - Confocal microscope and image analysis. The Core Labs also manage shared instrumentation for microscopy, real-time PCR and computing.
